Our base Taalintehdas in Finland is located in the midst of a coastal landscape in the southwest of Finland, which consists of thousands of small, larger and smallest islands. The nearest airport is in Turku, 80 kilometers away. If you would also like to visit the Finnish capital Helsinki, you can also land here. With a rental car it is just over two hours to the base. The marina is well equipped, restaurants, shopping facilities, water and electricity supply are available. Music lovers should not miss the Baltic Jazz Festival in early July. One of the oldest jazz festivals in the world, in small Taalintehdas. Otherwise, it is rather quiet here, the city has grown up around a steel mill, which is now closed. The real highlight, however, is the archipelago sea, in which you find yourself immediately after setting sail and which continues to spread out towards the west.

During the summer months there are more events in the different places on the islands and a lot of things to do like kayaking, biking, fishing, tours on different topics or for instance yoga. Also take time to explore the islands on foot or by bike. In May 2019, an interesting international project will be completed: A pilgrimage trail called St. Olav's Waterway, which goes both over the islands of the archipelago and over water, in a combination of walking or biking and by boat. The trail starts in Turku and runs across the archipelago to Sweden and Norway.

There are plenty of sailing opportunities and activities and sights to see: On Rosala, there's a Viking Center that provides information about the history of the Vikings on the islands and showcases finds from the period. Local museums like in Sagarlund, Korpos, Pargas or Skyttala show the island life of past centuries with original wooden houses and inventory. At Fagerlund there is a museum with tractors from the 1930s. Lighthouses come in a variety of colors and shapes. Finland's first was built on Utö in 1753.
