Thailand's largest island Phuket is the starting point for a cruise in the Andaman Sea. The coast of the island and the adjacent Phang Nga Bay impresses with its bizarre rock formations, which the water has shaped from the limestone. Here you will also find numerous small bays with white sandy beaches and turquoise blue, clear water to linger and relax. For snorkelers and divers, the numerous coral reefs in the national parks are interesting. A highlight are also the Phi Phi islands, which are counted among the most beautiful islands in Thailand. However, there are over 130 other islands in the bay that you can visit that are less touristy.

Another option is the Gulf of Thailand, where you can set out from Koh Chang. Here you will also find beautiful beaches, great diving spots and rainforest covered islands for day trips.

In Thailand, either the northeast or southwest monsoon tugs at your sails and determines the weather. Winter months are the best time if you are looking for sun and relaxation or are less experienced sailors. The winds are then stable due to the northeast monsoon. Experienced sailors who want more sporting challenges will find winds up to 20 knots in the summer months in the southwest monsoon. At this time anchoring possibilities have to be considered accordingly, some islands cannot be approached. In addition, heavy and prolonged showers must be expected.
