With others, the charterer has to take care of it himself if he wants to have a charter cancellation insurance included. Other insurers with charter services are for example HanseMerkur or Allianz. Can customers who do not live in Germany also take out the insurance?

All customers with a residence in Europe can use the charter cancellation insurance with Yacht-Pool.

When does the insurance coverage start and end?

Unless otherwise agreed, the protection starts on the day of the policy (with timely payment) and ends after the cruise. Additional insurance of arrival and departure is possible by agreement.

Is only the contract holder insured or are all crew members insured? What happens if individual members drop out, and do I have to list all crew members when I take out the insurance?

Crew members are only covered by protection if they are on the crew list, so it is important to fill out and maintain the crew list quickly in case of changes. If only part of the crew is absent, the reimbursement will be pro-rated.

Does the insurance include cancellation or rebooking if my vacation destination is declared a risk area by the government?

No, this case is not insured.

What happens in case of cancellation?

In the event of cancellation (no-show), compensation will be paid for the cancellation costs owed to the charter company or other cancellation costs contractually owed by the insured in connection with the charter. In the event of cancellation, the additional return travel costs demonstrably incurred and any other additional costs directly caused thereby will be reimbursed.

Who do I contact in the event of an insurance claim, 1a Yacht Charter or the insurance company? What steps should I take in the event of an insurance claim and what documents do I need?

Should a claim occur, the insurance company must be informed immediately and the costs must be kept as low as possible. In addition, the trip must be canceled with the booking office or, in the case of a trip that has already started, with the tour operator. In order to settle the claim, the insurer needs all documents proving the cause and the amount of the payment claim.

What is not insured?

No insurance cover is provided in the event of pregnancy and all associated complications. Also not insured are travel cancellations due to wars, political acts of violence or similar events. In case of quarantine without infection, the insurance does not apply.

Is insolvency of charterers and agency covered?

1a Yachtcharter has the "checked & trusted" seal from Yacht-Pool International and protection in case of insolvency is thus included in the PLUS insurance package. Insolvencies of fleet operators who have also received this seal from Yacht-Pool are also covered with PLUS.
