Our charter base Cienfuegos is located at the large Bahia de Jagua on the south coast of Cuba. The harbor was and is the lifeline of this city: in former times it offered protection to pirates, later the sugar barons shipped their sweet goods from here. Their great wealth found expression in the 19th century in the impressive architecture that earned the city World Heritage status a few years ago. The rise of Cienfuego was accompanied by the decline of the former sugar metropolis of Trinidad, not far away - a city that you should definitely visit, e.g. during a cruise along the south coast of Cuba. As attractive yacht charter destinations you can reach from the base Cienfuegos for example the gorgeous coral islands of the Canarreos archipelago with its main islands Isla de la Juventud and the diving center Cayo Largo. Somewhat less known, but equally worth seeing, is the archipelago of the reef Jardines de la Reina. Also easily accessible is the impressive marshlands of the Zapata Peninsula, a Unesco Biosphere Reserve.
