With a yacht charter Diélette to the west of Normandy and the Channel Islands

Diélette is an ideal starting point for cruises to the English coast or the islands in the English Channel: to Jersey and Guernsey as well as to the smaller islands of Alderney, Herm and Sark. The islands offer small harbor towns, lots of nature and swimming opportunities. Due to the Gulf Stream, contrary to expectations, the climate is mild and therefore quite suitable for beach vacationers. In the north of the three northern islands there are sandy beaches, the other two are rather rocky. Jersey is popular with surfers. Culturally, the islands are an interesting mix of English and French influences. When sailing to the Channel Islands, it is important to pay attention to clearing in and out.

Along the west coast of the Contentin Peninsula, it's worth stopping in Granville, a small harbor town that is now a seaside resort with a thalassotherapy center. You can walk through the medieval center with fortress walls and look down on the harbor from the upper town. Near the town also stands the house where Christian Dior grew up. It contains a museum with changing exhibitions on haute couture. You can also take a side trip to the offshore Chausey Islands. Of the 22 islands, only the largest is inhabited. In the very southwest of Normandy on the border with Brittany is the impressive monastery mountain Mount-Saint-Michel, which is separated from the mainland by the sea, but is also accessible on foot at low tide. It is a tourist highlight in Normandy along with the town of Bayeux with its famous tapestry that tells the story of the Norman conquest of England in pictures.

Every year in August, the Chausey Regatta takes place on the Îles Chausey.
