Yacht charter Heiligenhafen
The marina in Heiligenhafen is large and well equipped. Therefore it was awarded with five stars by the German Tourism Association. The small town has beautiful old streets and during a stroll through town you will find many opportunities to stop at restaurants and cafes. A walk through the fishing port is also interesting, here you can also get a delicious fish sandwich. When the weather is nice, a walk to the beach and through the Graswarder nature reserve is worthwhile. If you want, you can join one of the daily guided tours here. Alternatively, you can also start from Großenbrode or Burgtiefe on Fehmarn.
Due to its central location Heiligenhafen offers various possibilities for short and longer cruises. For a relaxed weekend trip a circumnavigation of the island of Fehmarn is suitable. In addition, the starting point offers a wide range of adventure opportunities for sailors of all experience levels. Newcomers to sailing can take it easy in the areas around Heiligenhafen and gain experience in a relaxed manner. Sporty sailors will also find other beats with worthwhile destinations and families are offered varied daily destinations in short beats.
Arrival: Getting to Heiligenhafen by car is easy via the A1 highway. Near the marina there is also the possibility to park the car safely for a longer period of time. With a yacht charter Heiligenhafen to the Bay of Lübeck: beautiful landscapes, wonderful beaches and many naturally protected harbors.
1 week: Heiligenhafen - Fehmarn - Großenbrode - Grömitz or Neustadt - Travemünde - Boltenhagen Bay - Timmendorf - Heiligenhafen
2 weeks: Discover on a two-week cruise in addition to places along the German Baltic coast, the Danish South Sea. One of the most popular sailing areas!
Sail towards Lübeck Bay in the east, make a detour to Orth and Burg on the island of Fehmarn. Then head back south to the Wagrien peninsula to Großenbode on the east side. Here you can enjoy the benefits of the Baltic Sea spa, with long beaches and old town center to stroll.
One of the oldest Baltic resorts is Grömitz, further south. Here, sports facilities on the beach attract visitors and countless beach chairs invite them to linger. The beach promenade leads past cafés and restaurants to the famous pier. If you find it too busy here, you can sail on to Neustadt in Holstein and then continue along the endless beaches of the Lübeck Bay to Travemünde. There are various mooring possibilities, but it is especially nice to moor right in the Passat harbor and visit the namesake four-masted barque Passat, a landmark of Travemünde.
If you would like to follow the Trave to Lübeck, a particularly beautiful, green section with several bays awaits you until the view of the old Hanseatic city opens up. East of the Bay of Lübeck, the smaller Boltenhagen Bay with the seaside resort of the same name follows first. In addition to the kilometer-long sandy beach, there is also a piece of steep coast here, which allows a beautiful view over the bay. In addition, there has been a large, comfortable marina here for several years.
To the east is Wismar Bay, a diverse marine habitat with the beautiful old trading town at its center. Finally, a stopover in Timmendorf with its famous beach on the island of Poel is a good idea. From here you can also continue to discover the western Baltic Sea and sail into the Mecklenburg Bay.
West of Heiligenhafen lies the Bay of Kiel. Here you can include the islands of the Danish South Sea in the trip and for example moor opposite in Bagenkop and then sail further to Fåborg, Maasholm or Schleimünde, Strande and Wendtorf.

Zealand and its offshore islands: chalk cliffs, small harbor towns and the capital Copenhagen.
2 weeks: Heiligenhafen - Marstal - Omø - Korsør or Nyborg - Hundested - Helsingør - Copenhagen - Møn - Falster - Lolland - Funen - Maasholm - Laboe - Heiligenhafen.
If you have longer time, you can also sail around Zealand and include a trip to the capital Copenhagen as well as the islands of Lolland, Falster or Møn.
In the very north of the Småland fairway is the island of Omø, whose small island harbor has been completely renovated. Another nice cruising destination is the small island of Vejro, which is privately owned. In the harbor you can moor safely, then after a walk you can enjoy regional dishes in the restaurant "Skipperly". In the associated farm store you can buy organic products directly from the island. Alternatively, you can head for the small island harbor on Fejø and Femø a little further south. Nature and agriculture, vacationers and locals get along well on the small islands of the Småland fairway. Along the beautiful nature beaches you can take long walks, usually there are rental bicycles in the harbor (at least in the summer). On Femø there is a jazz festival every summer.
After the seclusion of the islands you can go to the harbor towns of Vordingborg or Karrebæksminde. The latter has a long fishing tradition, so it is a good place for fresh fish. In the channel between the town and the island of Enø there are several mooring possibilities. Directly adjacent you will find beautiful beaches. In front of the town of Vordingborg is a beautiful natural harbor with good infrastructure. Near the harbor are the castle ruins and the medieval goose tower, the town's landmark.
Those who want to sail on to Møn can next moor in the cozy Stubbekøbing at Grønsund on the island of Falster and get supplies here.
Along Lolland's west coast lie Ønsevig with a small but cozy harbor and Nakskov, Lolland's largest town with a historic old town. In the harbor you can moor with a view of the old shipyard land, and on foot you can quickly reach the city center. From Falster you can easily reach Klintholm on the island of Møn, the "little sister" of Rügen. Klintholm is located in beautiful surroundings, there are great beaches right next to the harbor. Only a few kilometers from here are the famous chalk cliffs: Møns Klint, the highest cliff in Denmark. In the northwest lies the small island of Nyord with a harbor in idyllic surroundings.
From Møn you can continue a longer cruise towards Copenhagen, e.g. with a stopover in Rodvig. In the surroundings of Rodvig the chalk cliff coast continues, a great sailing scenery.
