Yacht charter Tarragona

Your yacht charter Tarragona will take you to the "Rome of the Iberian Peninsula". Conquered by the Romans at the end of the third century BC and appointed provincial capital, the city experienced a period of prosperity. Even today, the amphitheater, the circus, a triumphal arch, an aqueduct and other monuments in the city and in the surrounding area are well preserved and worth a visit. Every year in late summer, Roman games are re-enacted in the amphitheater during the "Festival Tarraco Viva". Very close to the theater is the beach El Miracle and offers a welcome cooling after the cultural tour. L'Arrabassada is a particularly family-friendly beach, and those who like it a bit more sporty can visit the beach Platja Llarga, which is known as a diving area. From here you can also reach the bay Cala Fonda by a signposted hiking trail, here is a particularly natural and little visited beach, but one of the most beautiful on the coast of Tarragona. For a successful family outing with lots of action, there is Port Aventura World near Salou. A large amusement park that has something to offer for all ages.

Volcanic islands, nature reserves and blue water sailing on a yacht charter Tarragona

Along the coast towards the southwest lies the Ebro Delta. Along the way you'll pass Salou, a small resort popular for its windsurfing spots, small rugged coves to anchor in, and a large theme park. The delta itself is a protected nature reserve where just over 300 species of birds find a safe haven. On foot, you can discover this unique habitat on numerous hiking trails. For those who crave more rugged mountain scenery, take a mountain bike tour through the nearby El Port Mountains, whose bizarre rock formations inspired artists such as the young Picasso. Sant Carles de la Ràpita is home to a well-developed marina in close proximity to the delta area.
About 30 nautical miles off the Spanish mainland and another 30 nautical miles southwest of the Ebro Delta are the Islas Columbretes. Inhabited only by park rangers, these volcanic islands are a popular diving and snorkeling spot, though permission must be obtained beforehand and only experienced divers are allowed on dives. The islands themselves can also be visited partially guided. The islands are not too crowded yet and are often used as a stopover for the route towards Formentera via Mallorca and Ibiza.

Up the coast to the northeast lie Sitges , known for its water sports facilities, and further Barcelona. Combine your Tarragona yacht charter with a city break and relaxing sailing along the sandy beaches of the Costa Daurada, further north to the Costa Brava or experience the adventure of blue water sailing to the Balearic Islands.
