  • the whole range from small harbors to luxurious marinas

many attractive sailing areas. So that you can enjoy the different facets of the Mediterranean Sea during your yacht charter vacation, we charter well maintained sailing yachts in various regions at numerous bases.

The Mediterranean - charming variety

The Mediterranean has its own unique climate and its own flora and fauna. This is due, among other things, to the high salt content of the sea water. The sea connects three continents, many countries and waters (through access to the Atlantic, Black and Red Seas) and shows its own face in each of its regions.

Water: seas, bays and lagoons

Some of the secondary seas and bays are known to us through their seafaring past: already Odysseus sailed through the Ionian Sea, from the Aegean Sea with its many islands the European culture spread in ancient times. Greeks and Romans sailed all parts of the Western Mediterranean to trade, build settlements and make history in naval battles. Later, many explorers and merchants started their voyages in the Gulf of Venice, whose lagoon city still transports us to another time. To discover Venice from the water, our Slovenian ports are an ideal starting point. Other historical beauties of the Adriatic are less known. For example, many of the Croatian towns were originally built on peninsulas and have thus remained protected for centuries. The sailor is offered beautiful Mediterranean panoramas on the approach (for example in Biograd, Trogir or Zadar and of course in Dubrovnik).

Land: coasts and islands

The islands and coastal formations of the Mediterranean are very diverse. To the west are the region's largest islands, Sicily and Sardinia. Even farther west are the Balearic Islands, with Majorca in the center. While the main islands are quite well known, few know that over 100 other islands are counted as part of the Balearics, including the impressive Cabrera archipelago off the southern tip of Mallorca. In the eastern part of the Mediterranean, however, there are relatively few large islands. Instead, there are regions with thousands of small islets, and the coasts here are also much more indented. The Aegean Sea and the coast of Croatia, which is surrounded by many islands, form beautiful and varied sailing areas. Maybe you can be an explorer and master of your own island!

Nature on water and on land

The impressive beauty of the Mediterranean flora and fauna can be seen in the many national parks that have been created in recent decades, both on water and on land. The waterfalls of the Krka National Park near Sibenik and the Kornati National Park off the island of Murter are among the better known Croatian examples. Did you also know that there are dolphin and whale sanctuaries in Croatia (near Punat) and off the Italian Riviera? Or that sea turtles gather in the Turkish Dalyan Delta to lay their eggs? That there is a salt lake in the Telašćica Nature Park and that the gourmet salt Fleur de Sel is produced in the Gulf of Lion?
The inhabitants of the Mediterranean region have at all times used the Mediterranean field and seafood in their delicious and colorful cuisine. Enjoying the regional dishes of their yacht charter country is certainly one of the most beautiful ways to discover the natural diversity of the Mediterranean!
