Kos is the ideal starting point for island hopping in the Dodecanese islands. From the center of the archipelago, you can plan both a northbound or a southbound trip. Short distances save time and you get to see a lot even on a short Törn. On Kos you can enjoy thermal baths, visit ancient cities and end your vacation with a visit to one of the numerous beaches. Yacht charter Kos
Kos is located in the center of the Dodecanese archipelago in the Aegean Sea and only 4 kilometers from the Turkish mainland. There are direct flights from Germany to the island's international airport. Otherwise, a change in Athens or Thessaloniki is necessary. Just a 
half hour from the airport is Kos Marina. It is a fully equipped marina with shopping facilities. In the center of the village you can find taverns, restaurants and boutiques for shopping. From the fortress you have a beautiful view over the city. The tree of Hippocrates next to the fortress is said to have stood there during the lifetime of the doctor who worked here. There have been healing baths here since ancient times, such as the Asklepion site. If you want to treat yourself to one, you can do so at the Embros spa.
From the mountain village of Zia you have a beautiful view over the island. In the northeast Mastichari has a protected harbor with shopping facilities, taverns and a beach. In the southwest, Ormos Kamari is an anchorage with restaurants, tavernas and a beach.
Excursions and cruises to the Turkish coast are possible, but you should think about clearing in and out. Within the archipelago you can make a cruise through the northern islands, such as Pserimos, Kalymnos, Leros and Patmos. With more time, you can also include the northern islands of the Southern Sporades, like Samos. Or you may be drawn south from Kos to Nisyros, Tilos, Symi, Halki to the main island of Rhodes.
