Yacht charter Corfu

Corfu is the most populous of the Ionian Islands and is located south of the so-called "boot heel" of Italy, bordering the Albanian coast to the north to within two kilometers, where the Corfu Straits separate the two coasts.

Corfu is an exceptionally green island and is characterized by its mild temperatures. The landscape is characterized by the ubiquitous olive trees, pine forests, vineyards and the hilly and mountainous terrain from which Pantokrator and Agii Deka rise. Along the 217 km of coastline there are beautiful bays and beaches.

The Marina Gouvia, located 6 km north of Corfu Town, is well organized and offers berths for more than 1000 yachts. On site at the marina area you will find everything from bars, restaurants to supermarkets and even sports facilities, for everyday use and relaxed leisure. Another authentic Greek port to launch from is in Benitses, also on the east coast of Corfu.

Arrival: Corfu can be reached via direct flights from Germany to Kerkya International Airport. To the Marina Gouvia it takes only a 20-minute cab ride.

Corfu Town - Greek savoir-vivre among Venetian buildings

Corfu, which is located directly between the Adriatic and the Ionian Sea, can already look back on a changeable past, as the island has already been under French, British and Venetian rule, which means that it has been constantly influenced by a wide variety of cultures, which can be seen especially in the architecture in Corfu Town. Therefore, the island does not immediately appear as typically Greek.

The capital, also called Kérkyra, is the tourist center of the island and is located on the east coast of the island. It is flanked by two Venetian forts. Above all, the architecture of the historic old town of Kambiello, which UNESCO has designated a World Heritage Site, reflects the influence of past times in a beautiful way, in the form of beautiful alleys and venerable 300-year-old buildings and a magnificent street with arcades from the French era.

In Corfu Town you can choose between a wide range of cafes, taverns and restaurants to get closer to Greek cuisine and experience the warmth of the people. At the end of the harbor in Corfu Town, another small highlight awaits you in the form of an old fortress that offers a picturesque view over Gartisa Bay.

You should not miss to go to Mon Repos Castle, which is located on the Kanoni peninsula, about 4 km from Corfu Town. In the building where Prince Philip was born, which functions as a museum, many objects from the time of the British nobility on the island are exhibited. A stroll in the surrounding park will take you to the magnificent ruins of the temples of Hera and Kardaki. A hidden highlight is the neat 15th century monastery of Vlacherna, which can only be reached via a small causeway near Kanoni and appears as a beautiful photo motif with its red tiled roof.

Explore the coastal stretches of the mainland and Corfu.

If you head south from the marina in Corfu, the east coast of Corfu in particular makes for great stopovers. There you will find beautiful beaches and bays that invite you to swim and snorkel, and dreamy, charming fishing villages.

Drop anchor at the seaside resort of Benitses, south of Corfu Town, and follow in the footsteps of European nobility. The Austrian Empress Sissi and the German Emperor Wilhelm II left their traces on Corfu in the form of the Achilleion, which often served as their summer residence in the past two centuries. The lively village center invites you to relax with several taverns, bars and cafes.

In the small fishing village of Petriti with its tranquil fishing port you will find peace and quiet, a small natural beach and taverns that offer good cuisine and a beautiful mainland panorama.

Sailing trips around Corfu can continue in Kassiopi in the northeast of Corfu. There you will sail into an idyllic fishing port and can relax among an old monastery, cozy alleys and taverns. You can see the mountains of Albania and Greece from Kassiopi.

In addition, stages to the Greek mainland to Mourtos Syvota, 19 nm from the marina in Corfu Town, are an option. The atmospheric town of Parga further south of Mourtos Syvota, with its 11th century Venetian castle, is also recommended for strolling along the waterfront promenades and letting time pass in the alleys of the old town.
