Getting there: Coming from Germany, you ideally land at Miami International Airport or Tampa International Airport for northern Florida and St. Petersburg. From Miami it is only 10 kilometers to Marina Miami, and from Tampa it is about 20 kilometers to the marina in St. Petersburg. Both distances can be easily covered by cab or rental car. Also to get to Key West, Miami International Airport is a good option, from where they can take a domestic flight to Key West International Airport, which is just a few kilometers from downtown and the marinas. Another popular option is the scenic drive along the Overseas Highway (US 1) from Miami to Key West. This roughly 260-kilometer route crosses 42 bridges and offers breathtaking views of the turquoise waters and surrounding islands.

For European travelers wishing to enter the U.S., ESTA(Electronic System for Travel Authorization) approval is generally required. This authorization should be applied for online at least 72 hours prior to departure and is valid for tourist, business or transient stays of up to 90 days. A valid passport with biometrics is also required. In Florida and the Keys, as in the entire U.S. territory, the U.S. dollar (USD) is the official currency.

Sunny sailing adventures from St. Petersburg
