Yacht charter Trinité-sur-Mer
The small village La Trinité-sur-Mer is located in the northwest of France in the bay of Quiberon in Brittany. From a small fishing village Trinité-sur-Mer has developed to a meeting point for long distance sailors, also for circumnavigators. Therefore no wishes remain open here for the sailor heart. The place lies protected in the mouth of the Crac'h river. From Germany there are flights via Paris to Nantes, Brest, Quimper or Rennes, with a transfer via Paris. Already around Trinité are several beaches and a rich offer of water sports activities.
A trip to the early history, to the French sailing centers and the Breton islands and beaches with a yacht charter Trinité-sur-Mer
Just a short distance south of Trinité-sur-Mer lies the Gulf of Morbihan. The name translates to "small sea" and it is indeed an inland sea with many small islands. It is protected from the force of the Atlantic, but the tides still have a strong effect here, so that a third of the gulf is even filled only at high tide. The Gulf region is also known for its impressive megalithic sites. In Carnac, for example, there are megalithic tombs and several thousand menhirs, the background of which is explained in a museum. Also in Locmariaquer there are many sights from the Neolithic Age. The Gulf of Morbihan is also known for its oysters. Breeding is still a tradition here and is carried on in small farms. Therefore, you should try them here, of course, there are also other shellfish and seafood from the region. Vannes is a charming historic town with parks. Walk along the Garenne promenade along the old city wall, below are French gardens. In the old town at Places des Lices are many half-timbered houses and villas. Historical festivals are also held here, for example in July. The largest islands in the inland sea are Île-aux-Moines and Île d'Arz.
In the bay of Quiberon there are also islands like Houat, Hoedic and Belle-Île-en-Mer. They were also used by people in the Stone Age and there are sites or menhirs on all three. The first two islands are surrounded by beaches, the latter, which is also the largest, is surrounded by rocky coastline. Other islands further north are Ile de Groix and Iles de Glénan. The island Ile de Groix shows geological peculiarities, because here are rock layers on the surface, which were formed by the collision of two prehistoric continents and which are rarely seen elsewhere. Besides dolmens and menhirs, you can also visit a ship grave from the Viking Age. For relaxation, there is a fine sandy beach here, the Plage des Grands Sables. The Iles de Glénan are several islands where there are restaurants. The famous diving and sailing school of Les Glénans is based here and also offers other water sports. The islands are surrounded by sandy beaches and in early summer you can admire the blossoms of the protected Glénan daffodil. Not far from the islands, on the mainland, is the town of Lorient. Here, in the morning hours, one can experience the hustle and bustle of the fish market. A museum enlightens about the events in the city during the Second World War, when the Nazis established a submarine station here. Part of the exhibition is also a submarine and other underwater vehicles. A highlight for sailors is also Eric Tabarly's ocean sailing center, with exhibits, simulations and sailing ships. Children will also have fun here.
Alternatively, you can start from the Port du Crouesty in Arzon, which is also located at the mouth of the Gulf of Morbihan, or include this port as a stopover. For a cruise in the southern west coast of France you can also depart from La Rochelle.
