Arzon is located in the northwest of France on the Rhuys peninsula, which is surrounded by the Gulf of Morbihan and the Bay of Quiberon. In the bay as well as in the gulf there are several islands, which invite for hopping.

In the bay directly opposite there are already the islands Houat, Hoedic or Belle-Île-en-Mer. Beaches for relaxing can be found on the first two islands, while the third and largest is rocky. Nevertheless, it is worth visiting, especially the main town of Palais with its old town and citadel. For those looking for relaxed sailing, the Gulf of Morbihan is an inland sea with many islands. Although protected from the force of the Atlantic, the tides still have a strong effect here, so that a third of the gulf is even filled only at high tide. The area was already settled in the Neolithic Age, as evidenced by impressive megalithic sites and megalithic tombs, such as in Carnac, where there is also a museum, and Locmariaquer. The medieval town of Vannes is located at the other end of the Gulf and gathers in the old town many colorful half-timbered houses and villas. French gardens are lovingly tended along the old city walls. Between the mouth of the Gulf and Vannes are over 40 islands, the largest of which are Île-aux-Moines and Île d'Arz. Alternatively, you can start from Trinité-sur-Mer, 11 kilometers away, or from Lorient, located in the Blavet estuary. Or you can start from La Rochelle further south and sail along the coast.
