Die Segeleigenschaften der Oceanis 50 sind zumindest für eine nicht ganz junge Crew schwierig. Zum Setzen der Segel muss man auf die Sprayhood und z. T. den Mast hochklettern. Zum Bergen dito. Man kann beim Setzen des Großsegels die „Entfaltung“ des Segels von der Winsch aus nicht beobachten. Bei Seegang sehr gefährlich und problematisch. Wenn dann das Bugstrahlruder nicht funktioniert, gibt es Probleme.
