- Salamina
Start your next cruise from Salamina, also called Salamis. An entire battle is named after the island in the Saronic Gulf, off Athens. In 480 BC, the Persians were defeated by the Greeks in a naval battle here, giving the Greeks naval supremacy. Start from here in a relaxing sailing trip to the Saronic and Argolic Gulf. These south and south-west of Salamina located areas are especially suitable for sailing novices and family cruises because of the relaxed wind and sailing conditions and the short distances. If you have more than a week for your vacation on the sea, you can extend your trip to the coast of the Peloponnese. To explore the west of the Peloponnese, starts from Sami or Zakynthos are also suitable.
More experienced sailors will find a challenging and very beautiful area on a two-week trip to the southeast through the Cyclades. You should always keep the Meltemi in the summer months in mind. But if you keep an eye on the weather and wind forecasts and take to heart little tricks like early starts at dawn when the wind is still sluggish, sailing around the Cyclades is no problem.
Climate: Mediterranean, with temperatures between 24 and 30 degrees.
Winds: Meltemi
Sailing season: April to October

The fascinating Cyclades: Yacht charter from Salamina with incomparable island destinations
Start on your yacht charter Salamina towards southeast passing islands like Kea, very popular among sailors because of the good anchoring possibilities in the bay of Vourkari, or Loutra, just like the island of Methana famous for its hot springs. The island of Syros is less known to tourists. The capital of the island Ermoupoli is the administrative center of the Cyclades. The town of Syros, which dates back to Venetian times, still radiates a rather Italian flair. Mykonos is not only known to sailors. It is certainly the most popular of the Cyclades islands. In the 60s it became known as the party island of the rich and beautiful. Liz Taylor, for example, was a frequently seen guest. Today, the party aspect is certainly still true. So if you want to dance the night away, you can certainly do so on Mykonos. On Paros you can get the necessary rest afterwards. The main town of the island is Parikia. For a few years now, more and more tourists have been flocking to the small island, which impresses with its beauty. In the center of the town stands the Panagia Ekatontapyliani, a church from the 4th century AD. Besides tourism, wine growing is also an important industry on the island. The wines are obtained from the white grape Monemvasia and the red Mandilaria. Naxos is the largest of the Cyclades islands. The skyline of Naxos town on the west coast is determined by the former fort, which was built in the 13th century. Today it houses an archaeological museum. On Ios it is a bit more turbulent again. During the day, you won't notice any of this on the many picturesque beaches and green bays, but if you like to party, you'll be in good hands here. The island is known for its many bars and beach clubs. Santorini is certainly one of the most famous islands in the region.
