Yacht charter Mykonos

The island of Mykonos belongs to the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea. It is one of the most popular Greek islands among tourists, accordingly it is lively here. Cruise tourists flock to Mykonos town during the day and partygoers to the island's beaches, discos and bars in the evening. If this is too much for you and you want to experience more of the local life, you should rather visit during the off-season.

In the town of the same name, Mykonos or Hora, you can walk along narrow, winding streets between the typical houses of the Cyclades: Snow-white, they shine in the sun, which only enhances their colorful doors and shutters. In the Little Venice neighborhood, you can still find remnants of Venetian rule in the architecture of the houses. Cafes, bars and boutiques line the streets of the city. On the hill Kato Myli stand picturesquely five windmills side by side, which once ground the grain of the region.

Mykonos is not stingy with beaches either. Platys Gialos is the longest beach on the island and offers a wide range of water sports. Ornos, Agios Iannis and Kapari in the southeast of the island are popular with families. Those looking for party beaches and free body culture will find their place at Paradise and Super Paradise. On the other hand, the former main town of the island, Ano Mera, just a few kilometers inland from Mykonos, is more pristine.

The nearest neighboring islands are not far away. From Mykonos town you can already see Delos, once an important cult site and today one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece. Here you can still visit the remains of the former temples, the island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The name of the archipelago derives its meaning from this: the islands of the Cyclades cluster around Delos like a circle(kyklos). A bit further south lies Naxos, where beach goers and hikers are just right. To the north, yacht charterers reach Tilos. According to mythology, the wind god Aiolos lived on this island, so sailors can expect a stronger Meltemi.
