Yachtcharter Elefsina

Book quickly and securely with top advice.

A yacht charter Elefsina will take you on a dream sailing trip around the islands of the Saronic Gulf. A little hidden behind Salamina, only a few kilometers away from Athens, easily accessible via Athens International Airport, you will take over your yacht and start your sailing vacation. After you have passed Nea Peramos and left the Gulf of Elefsina behind you, the islands of Aegina, Agistri, Hydra and Spetses lie on your way through the Saronic into the Argolic Gulf. In between there are always smaller islets with green bays, white beaches and clear waters - the characteristics that make a sailing vacation around the Saronic Islands. The sailing conditions in the Saronic Gulf are especially suitable for inexperienced sailors and family cruises. Weak currents and moderate winds, which are mostly easy to predict, make sailing here a relaxing experience. There are only short strokes between the islands, which offer a wide potpourri of experiences, from hikes to historical sites and quaint villages. More time for all kinds of activities.
More experienced sailors might be tempted by a cruise through the Cyclades, which is also possible. Start strategically in Salamina or Athens.

Climate: Mediterranean with temperatures between 24 and 30 degrees.
Winds: Meltemi
Sailing season: April to October

Elefsina, a historically significant city west of Athens, offers you an impressive blend of culture, history and scenic beauty. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and European Capital of Culture 2021, Elefsina attracts travelers from all over the world. The city is known for its ancient sites, especially the Sanctuary of Demeter and Kore, where the Eleusinian Mysteries were held annually. Here you can visit the well-preserved temples, ruins and the Elefsina Archaeological Museum, which presents a variety of fascinating artifacts. In addition to the historical sites, Elefsina also offers charming cafes, local tavernas and a relaxed atmosphere. The seafront and harbor also offer wonderful walks and the chance to enjoy the picturesque surroundings before setting off on your sailing trip.

Arrival: You can reach Elefsina via the international airport of Athens. From there it is a little more than 50 kilometers to the marina from where you start (there are several marinas, but they are in close proximity to each other). You can easily cover the distance by cab, or you can look for a transfer in our customer area before your start.

Island paradises in the Saronic Gulf: an unforgettable yacht charter trip through the Saronic Islands

Start not far from Athens from the mainland opposite the island of Salamina from Elefsina in your yacht charter adventure in the Saronic Gulf and around the Saronic Islands.
Aegina is the largest island of this archipelago. The island offers historical sites in the capital Aegina in the northwest of the island, smaller tranquil places such as Perdika and quiet anchorages and swimming bays in the south of the island.
Just a little further west is Angristi, a sparsely populated island where you will find pure peace and relaxation.
The peninsula Methana is a volcanic island. Already in ancient times the hot springs here were used for recreation. If you want to do some sports, you can go on one of the hiking trails of the island to discover the nature and history of the island. From the small port town of Vathi, for example, there are beautiful hiking routes for every level of experience.
Just a few nautical miles southeast of Methana is another peninsula - Poros. The archaeological museum in Poros town offers a good insight into the history of the island and the region through selected finds. Not far from the town, the monastery of Zoodochos Pigi is a worthwhile excursion destination, not only for those interested in church history (find out about the visiting hours and dress code beforehand).
The island of Hydra is not to be missed on your yacht charter in the Saronic Gulf. The entire island is considered a national architectural heritage and new buildings are not allowed here or are subject to the strictest regulations. Moreover, the island is car-free, instead goods and loads are transported by horses and donkeys through the narrow, marble-paved alleys. Around the island you will find picturesque bays and small, dreamlike beaches. The chances to stay here for a whole afternoon are high.
Spetses is already in the Argolic Gulf, but still belongs to the Saronic Islands. The island has a great seafaring tradition and with its fleet played a major role in the Greek War of Independence at the beginning of the 19th century. Every year in September, a festival is held in front of Spetses - the Armata - reenacting the fateful naval battle of 1821, from which the Greeks emerged victorious.

Discover the Saronic islands in a relaxed way on a one-week sailing trip. If you have more time available, then extend your sailing adventure even to the coast of the Peloponnese.
