To enter Grenada you need a passport, which should be valid for at least 6 months. No visa is required for a stay of up to one year. Upon entry, you will receive a residence permit for four weeks, for which an extension can be applied for at the relevant immigration office. However, air travelers should be in possession of return and onward tickets. If you are traveling via a country affected by the Ebola epidemic, you may be refused entry. It is recommended that you check with the appropriate authorities before entering the country. Further and current information can be found on the website of the German Foreign Office. The official language is English and the currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar.

Arrival, activities and discoveries for your yacht charter vacation

From Frankfurt you have the option to fly directly to Grenada, otherwise the flights usually go via London. International flights arrive at Point Salines Airport, which is located close to the capital St. George's. Our base Marina Port Louis is adjacent to the city and is the sailing center of Grenada.

In St. George's, be sure to visit one of the markets and experience the colorful variety of spices, fruits and other local ingredients and products. Grenada is also known as the Spice Island and exports nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger, among others. At a nutmeg plantation, you can learn about the cultivation and processing of Grenada's main export.
The British and French influence of the colonial past can still be seen in the cityscape. You can also visit the two forts next to the city, Fort George and Fort Frederick.
Like many other Caribbean islands, the island is of volcanic origin. The interior is mountainous and covered by rainforest. Through untouched nature you can hike in the Grand Etang National Park and see the volcanic crater lakes. Or you can take a hike to the Annandale waterfall.
South of the capital is Grand Anse Bay, with a mile-long white sand beach that is considered one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean. The south coast of Grenada consists of many indented bays. Good infrastructures are offered by Spice Island Marina in popular Prickly Bay and Secret Harbour Marina in Mt. Hartman Bay.

From Grenada a trip to the southern Grenadines, for example to Carriacou and Petit Martinique is a good option. For a longer yacht charter vacation one should definitely include the islands of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
