In the large marina in the town of Pointe-à-Pitre, you will find all the supplies you need for your cruise start and there are many yachts to choose from. From here, you can sail around the two main islands and make side trips to the secondary islands not far away. Since Guadeloupe lies right between the Leeward and Windward Islands, you have several other destinations to choose from both north and south of the island.

Yacht charter Guadeloupe
Here you will find information about the marina and its surroundings in Guadeloupe. Information about entry, currency, language and sights around the main and side islands you will find on our country page Guadeloupe.
Guadeloupe is divided into two main islands, Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre, with the Rivière Salée running between them. Our base, the Marina Bas-du-Fort is located in the west of Grand-Terre and here in the town of Pointe-à-Pitre. Five kilometers near the city is the main airport of the island, so the distance to the marina is not far. After all, a quarter of Guadeloupe's population lives in and around the city and so it also forms the economic center of the island. So even the food shopping during a yacht charter trip is quite good. Whether fish dishes or a glass of wine, local dishes and Creole cuisine can be enjoyed anywhere during a yacht charter in one of the bars and restaurants. The island is still characterized by the once most important economic goods: Sugar cane, coffee and rum. If you're here at Carnival time, you'll find yourself right at the center of the spectacle. Those who want to learn about the history of Guadeloupe and the Caribbean will find well-prepared exhibitions in the modern Memorial Acte Museum. The colorful cathedral Saint Paul et Saint Pierre is also worth a visit.
