Guadeloupe is divided into two main islands, Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre, with the Rivière Salée running between them. Our base, the Marina Bas-du-Fort is located in the west of Grand-Terre and here in the town of Pointe-à-Pitre. Five kilometers near the city is the main airport of the island, so the distance to the marina is not far. After all, a quarter of Guadeloupe's population lives in and around the city and so it also forms the economic center of the island. So even the food shopping during a yacht charter trip is quite good. Whether fish dishes or a glass of wine, local dishes and Creole cuisine can be enjoyed anywhere during a yacht charter in one of the bars and restaurants.
