Yacht charter Norwegian Sea

The Norwegian Sea, or European North Sea, is a marginal sea of the Atlantic Ocean and lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea in the south and the Barents Sea in the north. Unlike the latter, the Norwegian Sea reaches depths of up to 4000 meters. The climate is relatively mild for its northern location, as the Norwegian Current transports the warm Gulf Stream to the Norwegian coast. Many species of fish come to the coasts to spawn. In the north of Norway, various species of whales can also be seen off the coast. The coasts of the Norwegian Sea are shaped by the Ice Age, when the force of the glaciers left the fjords as well as the archipelagos. Despite the relatively mild climate, the weather can change even in summer. In the Norwegian Sea, the weather conditions should always be checked and included in the trip planning, as well as the sea state on the high seas. But there are also protected waters, for example on the coast of Norway in the archipelago and island landscapes as well as the fjords. This is also where our bases are located: From Tromsø and Svolvær (Lofoten) in the north to Hjellestad (Bergen) and Haugesund with offshore archipelago on the west coast.
