Hamburg Airport

Not far from the center of Hamburg, lies the international airport of the city. It can be reached from many German cities and also offers a wide range of airlines with which you can reach Hamburg. The airport is the most centrally located one can find in the north of Germany. It takes 25 minutes to reach the main train station with the S1, which runs every 10 minutes. From there, the best way to get to your final destination is by Deutsche Bahn.

Airport Rostock-Laage

The regional airport Rostock-Laage is growing strongly, especially in scheduled and charter traffic. The airport, which is used for both military and civil purposes, is located 28 km south of the city center of Rostock. Seasonally, other airlines also fly to Rostock-Laage, especially in summer. With a rental car or the train you have good connections from Rostock-Laage and are therefore very flexible. Sometimes there are also shuttle buses at the airport, which go to different regions around the Baltic Sea.

Billund Airport

Airport Sylt

Here, the date on which you fly should be better considered than at major airports. In addition, Sylt airport is more seasonal, shifting more to the summer. Thus, different airlines often operate between Sylt and other German cities. In the main town, Westerland, however, one is very speedy. It is only two kilometers from the Sylt airport to Westerland. From Sylt, it is also not far to other cities in the north, such as Flensburg, Kiel or Hamburg.

Sønderborg Airport

Especially for the north of Schleswig-Holstein as well as for the south of Denmark, Sønderborg Airport is of importance. Although it is small, it is essential for some connections, as otherwise a long detour would have to be accepted. A daily scheduled air service between Sønderborg and Denmark's capital Copenhagen is almost always guaranteed - several times a day the airline Cimber-Sterling operates between the cities. From Sønderborg airport to the city center it is about 7 kilometers to the south.

Copenhagen Airport

The largest airport in Scandinavia is an important hub for the whole of Northern Europe. Not only in terms of air cargo, but also for passenger traffic, Copenhagen-Kastrup Airport is a central hub, which is located directly on the Baltic Sea coast. Again and again, the airport is also connected to new airlines, which makes it grow steadily and gain more importance. Copenhagen itself can be reached within a few minutes, as it is only 8 kilometers away.

Berlin Schönefeld Airport

For the greater Berlin area, Schönefeld Airport is currently the most important. Berlin's second airport, Berlin-Tegel, will close in June 2012. Already, only a few aircraft are flying there and a noticeable shift to Berlin-Schönefeld Airport can be felt. 22 km to the northwest, it is located away from the city center. Although a somewhat further distance, this is also no longer a major problem with the S9 or the S45.
