Blue water cruises and one of the best diving areas in the world on a yacht charter Mexico

Mexico has a long coastline of more than 12 000 kilometers. Both to the Caribbean side and to the Pacific Ocean the country has access to the sea. The mainland shows itself through different altitudes and climatic zones in quite different garb. From tropical rainforest to snow-capped mountains and barren deserts, the country combines a variety of landscapes. Therefore, the richness of species of plants and animals is also special, Mexico is one of the most diverse countries in terms of biodiversity. The most typical plant of the country, the cactus, has about 4000 species. While forests predominate in the south, deserts and semi-deserts are more common in the north, as in Baja California. Even in this superficially barren landscape there are many plant and animal species. Besides cacti, there are also quite a few trees that take their chance to bloom after rare rain showers. As bare as the mainland seems, as rich is the world under water here. In addition to dolphins, sea turtles and sea lions, gray whales come here in winter and into spring to calve. Various species of sharks such as hammerheads and whale sharks are also found here, as well as various species of fish including mackerel, bonito and tuna. The Gulf of California is one of the best diving areas in the world and snorkelers can also discover a lot and be right in the middle of it. The animals are not necessarily shy, but curious as well. With all activities it is important to preserve the free space of the animals and not to destroy their habitat. Water should also be handled consciously in this dry part of the country.
Steady winds, numerous anchorages and the short distances involved make the area navigable even for less experienced sailors and families. For more information see Gulf of California and the bases La Paz and Puerto Vallarta.

If you are interested in a trip on the Caribbean side, you can also start from Mexico's neighboring country Belize. On the coast of Belize you will also find calm waters and the underwater world is as diverse as in Mexico.
