- Tivat
Although not a true fjord, the Bay of Kotor resembles a Norwegian landscape. Nestled between high mountains and divided into several basins, the bay is home to historic towns whose foundations date back to the Greeks. The city of Tivat later developed during Venetian rule. From here, explore the diversity of the bay and the coast of Montenegro or Croatia.

Yacht charter Tivat
The city is located in the Bay of Kotor in a basin in front of the city of the same name, Kotor. Since the bay is protected from storms, Greeks, Romans and Venetians settled here and founded towns and trade centers. The towns in the four individual basins have their own character. It is worth taking a closer look at the bay. Scattered along the shores are monasteries and places of pilgrimage, such as the Benedictine monastery of Sveti Dorde and the Orthodox monastery of Savina. In this basin are the so-called flower island, Ostrvo Cvijeca, where ruins of the Orthodox monastery of St. Michael stand, and Sveti Dorde, also an island, with a Benedictine monastery from the 12th century.
Continuing along the bay towards the Adriatic, you will pass the medieval town of Herceg Novi, also called the "City of the Sun". The old town center has many beautiful buildings, and there are also two fortresses, Spanjola and Forte Mare from the 16th and 17th centuries. Leaving the bay, you can turn south and sail along the coast of Montenegro or north to southern Croatia. Alternatively you can start from Kotor.
