While the Swedish capital itself is spread over 14 islands, another archipelago of more than 24,000 islands spreads out into the Baltic Sea. Vaxholm is a tourist center of the archipelago and Gustav Vasa's fortress is a well-known sight. On Grinda there is a restaurant and café as well as family-friendly beaches and the island is close to nature. The island Ängsö belongs to a nature reserve and shows how the archipelago can look untouched. Several hundred people live on Möja and you can immerse yourself a little in the tranquil island life and explore the island by bike. Sandhamn on the island of Sandö is the sailing center of the archipelago and the last port in the west before the Baltic Sea.
