Yacht charter Fethiye

Like many other towns in the region, Fethiye stands on historical ground, in this case that of the important Lycian port of Telmessos. Some historical evidence of this time - for example the rock tombs above the city - are still preserved and worth seeing, but much was destroyed in a severe earthquake in 1957. Today, the alleys in the old town area are a nice place to do some leisurely shopping before setting sail. Walking through the city, you will always come across traces of the time before the earthquake, such as the Eski Hamam, a Hellenistic theater and sarcophagi. Arrival is via Dalaman airport, which is just under 50 kilometers away.

South Sea beaches, beautiful hiking trails as well as nature and historical highlights on a yacht charter Fethiye

The Gulf of Fethiye is a beautiful sailing area with innumerable small bays and islands. To the south the beautiful Lycian coast stretches along with almost South Sea beaches. The beach of Ölüdeniz is considered the most beautiful in Turkey with its white sand and turquoise water. Accordingly, it is popular and many tourists populate the narrow headland. Nevertheless, it is worth a visit. The clear water invites you to snorkel and dive. Behind the beach, the mountains already begin, whose slopes are overgrown with green. Patara beach, further south, is also one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. If you feel like hiking, you can follow the Lycian Way in the bay of Kabak. It follows ancient trade routes and runs sometimes along the coast, sometimes in the hinterland. Near Ölüdeniz is also the Kelebekler Valley, the Butterfly Valley, a deep rock cut in a bay, where swarms of butterflies of various species cavort. The valley is protected, so nature takes precedence here. On the way through the gorge you also pass several small waterfalls. Besides beautiful beaches and nature, there are many historical highlights along the coast, such as the ruins of the Lycian port city of Olympos with the Olympos Beach in Cirali or the ruins of Xanthos, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the nearby sanctuary of Letoon. These are just a few places from the rich history of the area, dating back to before the arrival of the Romans during the Lycian League, a union of various cities.
