Yacht charter Izola
On the north coast of Istria between Koper and Portoroz is our base for a yacht charter Izola. The city of about 14500 inhabitants is about 25km away from Trieste in Italy and offers wonderful excursions along the Adriatic coast. The old town of Izola is situated on a former island and has a lot to offer: In addition to fine restaurants and narrow streets, you'll find the Museum of Model Shipbuilding and the Bensenghi Palace, which preserves a collection of more than 3000 books and manuscripts from the 16th and 17th centuries. Nowadays, in the Archaeological Park Simonov zaliv Izola you can visit remains of the Roman residence villa, decorated with beautiful mosaics, and the farm building.
The excellence of the marina as a base for a yacht charter Izola is also evident from the various events that take place in the port every year, such as the Austria Cup, the Diplomatic Regatta and the Slovenian BoatShow. 300 sunny days are perfect for smaller cruises to the island world of Croatia and to the also Croatian places Rovinj and Pula. Rovinj shines with its Italian flair, the romantic old town and the church of Sveta Eufemija, perched above the rooftops. Pula is a place very rich in history. Here, the Temple of Augustus and the large amphitheater dating from the 1st century AD, which once seated over 23000 people, are especially worth seeing.
For a longer sailing trip on a yacht charter Izola the Italian Venice 186km away is a perfect destination, but also Trieste and Ravenna are worth a visit. For more information on sailing in the Mediterranean Sea, please visit our yacht charter Adriatic Sea page.
