Yacht charter Pomer
With a yacht charter Pomer you start in the very south of Istria at the coast of Croatia. Due to its location Pomer is a perfect starting point for daytrips to explore the Istrian peninsula. The offshore islands Mali Losinj, Cres or Krk with the marina Punat can also be reached quickly in small cruises. The area around Pomer, with its safe moorings, gently sloping beaches and crystal clear waters, is also particularly suitable for families.
Pomer is located in the western part of Medulin bay, slightly set back and protected. If the eastern part of the bay with Medulin is more touristy, in Pomer you will find a bit more peace and quiet. The nearby small nature park Kamenjak offers the possibility to discover the unique nature in this area. Along the coastline, small bays are lined up, which can be easily reached from land, but also from the water and have a lot to offer. For example, the bay Velika Kolombarica, in the very south of the nature park, is very popular with cliff jumpers. Or the bay Uvala Skoljic, where there is a natural sandy beach. Windsurfing, kayaking and stand-up paddling - there are quite a few activities offered here and the equipment can be conveniently rented in the bay.
How to get there: Reaching Pomer is quite convenient by car through Austria and Slovenia; it's just slightly over 600 kilometers from Munich. If you're flying in, the Pula airportserves as the nearest air link. From there, Pomer is only 8 kilometers away and can be reached via taxi or a transfer service, which you can book through our customer area.

Island hopping in the Kvarner Bay
One week: Pomer - Unije - Cres - Krk - Rab or Pag - Losinj - Pomer
The Kvarner Bay stretches from the Istrian peninsula in the north to the Croatian mainland in the east. There are several larger and inhabited islands in the bay and a larger number of smaller and also uninhabited islands. Yacht charter in Kvarner Bay offers a wide range of sailing experiences for sailors of all levels of experience and vacationers of various interests. The sailing conditions are good. The mistral provides constant wind during the day in the summer months. The notorious Bora also rages in the Kvarner Bay, the further west you sail the lighter it gets. During your cruise, pay close attention to the wind and weather forecasts to adjust your route if necessary.
From Pomer, the island of Unije is a good first port of call, with good moorings on all sides of the coast. Especially the bay Maračol in the southeast of the island is praised for its beauty. Moreover, this anchorage offers reliable protection from winds and thus a quiet place for the night.
The island of Cres is a popular vacation destination among the islands in the Kvarner Bay. Its area is the same as that of the island of Krk, which makes it the largest of the Kvarner islands. In the south, in the place called Osor, it is connected by a swing bridge with the neighboring island of Lošinj. Osor is the oldest settlement on the island and was an important trading town already in ancient times. In the town museum you can learn more about the history of the place. You can also experience it first hand during a stroll through the town. In the old town around the market square you will find buildings from the 15th-16th centuries such as the town hall and the cathedral.
In the very north of the island at the end of an elongated bay lies Valun. The old fishing village is still known for its fish. Stop in one of the restaurants and enjoy freshly caught fish prepared in the typical way of the country.
The island of Krk is located east of Cres and is connected to the mainland by a bridge in the east, about 20 kilometers southeast of Rijeka. The island is extremely popular with vacationers and is known for its wealth of natural and cultural landscapes. The white wine Žlahtina, produced from the grapes grown here, is praised beyond the country's borders. In the west of the island, Marina Punat offers an all-round carefree mooring. If you prefer to spend the night more undisturbed and cheaper, you will find buoy fields for mooring in the many small bays on the south and west sides of the island. The east coast of the island forms the Velebit Channel together with the Croatian mainland in the area of Novi Vinodolski. This section is particularly exposed to the bora and is therefore recommended only for experienced sailors.
South of Krk on the island of Rab, there are a remarkably large number of sandy beaches for Croatia. Therefore, the island is extremely popular with vacationers. Especially families appreciate the beaches in the north of the island. The San Marino beach in Lopar is considered the top destination. The water slopes shallowly and on a scarcely kilometer the vacationers distribute themselves well also with large rush. A jet ski rental and a water slide round off the offer.
A little further south is the island of Pag, which is no longer part of the Kvarner islands, but is worth a detour. The island is extremely sparse in its vegetation, but it is precisely because of this that it captivates in its beauty. Olive cultivation has been practiced here for centuries and olive oil is produced here. A successful souvenir for those at home or for yourself, to remember the magic of the Croatia cruise at home.
From here it is time to turn around on a one-week cruise. In the direction of Pomer, on your way there is still the island of Lošinj with our locations Mali Lošinj and Veli Lošinj. Both places are considered to be healing places and their air is said to have a purifying and healing effect. Enjoy once again the flair of the Croatian harbor towns, enjoy the good food with freshly caught fish and one of the regional wines before heading back to Pomer and ashore.

Discover the beauty of Istria towards the north
One week: Pomer - Brijuni archipelago - Rovinj - Funtana - Novigrad - Vrsar - Pula - Pomer
Just as close as a vacation in the Kvarner Bay is a vacation on the coast of Istria from Pomer. For this, turn north after your start in Pomer and sail along the coastline with famous places like Pula or Rovinj. The 14 islands of the Brijuni archipelago are located off the coast at the level of Pula. They have been protected since 1983. Access to the area of the park is subject to a fee and free anchoring in the bays of the islands is prohibited. On the largest of the islands Veli Brijuni there is a small marina, in the main season the mooring fees are quite high. The island offers a golf course, several tennis courts, the remains of a Roman villa, beautiful beaches and a safari park, from the time when Tito resided here, but plenty for an entertaining day for young and old. Another anchorage is located off the island of Mali Brijuni, this one also has a fee. Find out in advance about the regulations for sailing and purchasing tickets for the Brijuni National Park.
If you would like to learn more about a cruise along the coast of Istria, then stop by our locations in Vrsar or Funtana and let us surprise you with what can be discovered there.
You have already explored the Croatian coast from Novigrad in the north to Dubrovnik in the south and are looking for a new sailing destination?
