Yacht charter Hyeres

A yacht charter Hyeres takes you to the Côte d'Azur, the French Riviera. The "azure coast", as the term coined by the poet Stéphen Liégeard translates, is a popular vacation region. At the beginning of the 19th century, the area became increasingly popular, especially in England. At the beginning of the 20th century, Americans discovered the coastal region between Cassis and the Italian border. Sailors appreciate the area because of the pleasant Mediterranean climate, the varied coastal landscape and the lively cities like Nice, Cannes, Saint Tropez and Antibes.

How to get there: You can reach Hyeres by plane via Toulon-Hyères airport (TLN), just under 7 km northeast of Port d'Hyères. Please check our customer area for information about a possible transfer.

Sailing along the Provençal coast: from Hyeres to Marseille

With a yacht charter Hyeres you start from the southernmost city of Provence. The offshore Îles d'Hyères are a popular vacation destination. The Île de Porquerolles is the largest of the three islands and offers as a car-free island especially much peace and relaxation. Go on a discovery tour through the original nature of the island on a bicycle. The neighboring island Île de Port-Cros has even more to offer. In 1963, the first national park in France was established here. It is possible to moor in Port de Port-Cros in the east of the island, anchoring is prohibited in the rest of the coastal area of the island. It is worth taking the short climb from the village to Fort de l' Estissac, built in the mid-17th century. The view is worth the trip, and the exhibition center there provides facts and figures about the national park.
Le Lavandou, located on the mainland coast, is famous for its Provençal market. Every Thursday, not far from the marina, along heavily laden tables, you can experience the colors and scents of Provençal produce from the surrounding countryside. From here, passing the lighthouse on Cape Camarat, you reach Saint Tropez. Every year in September it is the starting point of the "Voiles de Saint-Tropez", one of the most prestigious regattas in the Mediterranean. You too can mingle with the onlookers and be surprised by the colorful mix of old classics and fancy modernity. Port Grimaud was built on alluvial land in the 1960s and is considered the French version of Venice. Grab your dinghy and explore the town from the water on the countless canals. Sainte Maxime is located across from Saint Tropez and is considered particularly family-friendly.

If you start from Hyeres towards the west, you can sail along the Provençal coast on a week's trip all the way to Marseille. Read more about this part of the coast on our Toulon page.
