Kein GPS-Signal am Funkgerät vorhanden. Das DSC-Signal hätte bei Notruf nicht versendet werden können. Es wäre nur eine manuelle Positionseingabe im Notfall möglich gewesen. Der Vercharterer wurde vor Ort darauf hingewiesen. Eine Abhilfe war nicht möglich, da der Garmin-Plotter ausgetauscht wurde gegen eine andere Marke. Dies stellt einen Sicherheitsmangel dar, der möglichst behoben oder auf den vorher hingewiesen werden sollte.
Des Weiteren gab es kein Übergabeprotokoll bei der Abnahme und Rückgabe der Yacht. Der Techniker verlangte mehrere Unterschriften auf seinem Handy. Der unterschriebene Text war nicht bekannt.
