Only 4 km to the north is Follonica, which has about 25,000 inhabitants and is known especially for its unique cast-iron church of San Leopoldo. To the south, about 40 km away, is the former Etruscan city of Grosseto. Besides the Museo Archeologico d'Arte della Maremma, which houses finds from the Etruscan period, the Piazza Dante Alighieri with the Gothic Duomo San Lorenzo from the late 16th century is also worth a visit.

How to get there: Puntone can be reached via Pisa Galileo Gallilei Airport (PSA) in Pisa, 125 km from Puntone. From there you can take the train from Pisa Centrale to Follonica/Puntone. It is also still easy to reach by car from the south of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

On the way in the Tuscan Archipelago - island hopping in dreamlike nature

In the immediate vicinity of Puntone di Scarlino lies the Tuscan Archipelago with the islands of Giglio, Giannutri and, of course, Elba. Elba is only a few miles away and is usually the first port of call.

Marciana Marina is a charming town, popular for its elegant old town and waterfront promenades. Towards the south are the other, much smaller islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, such as Pianosa, Giglio and Giannutri.
