About 20 km north of Olbia on the Costa Smeralda in the northeast Sardinia lies our base Portisco. Head north to the magnificent coastal stretches of the popular Costa Smeralda and immerse yourself in an eventful world of luxury yachts and natural beauty. In the idyllic Maddalena Archipelago National Park, located off the northern coast, you'll find peace and relaxation, and there's plenty to discover on the seven main islands.

North of Sardinia, the Strait of Bonifacio connects Sardinia with Corsica. Experienced sailors can sail here and explore the south and east coasts of Corsica and the Lavezzi archipelago.

The town of Portisco is a very special one, because it manages to be both a center of attraction for high society with its luxury yachts and impressive sailboats, and to preserve its original flair. In the low season you can see few people on the shore, while in the high season the beaches get crowded. Nevertheless, Portisco remains a destination that mass tourism has not greatly changed,  thus preserving the native and natural atmosphere of Sardinia.

Yacht charter Portisco

In the northeast of the island of Sardinia on the Costa Smeralda lies our marina for a yacht charter Portisco. This sheltered marina at the western entrance of the Golfo di Cugnana is new, excellently equipped and offers a lot of space for various sports boats. Small cafes and restaurants add to the pleasant atmosphere of the marina.

Portisco and its marina is one of the most beautiful locations between the center of the Costa Smeralda Porto Cervo and its idyllic counterpart Porto Rotondo. Portisco's image is mainly determined by the neo-Sardinian architecture with its characteristic orientation towards the sea.

Along the coast you will find bright and fine sandy beaches, secluded anchorages and top tourist resorts like the Costa Smeralda in the northeast of Sardinia, also known as the coast of the rich and beautiful. Due to the emerald waters of its bays, vast landscapes with typical Mediterranean flora, rugged coastal shape radiates its own unique charm. The sandy beaches and crystal clear waters invite you to dive and swim.

How to get there: Portisco can be reached via the international airport in Olbia. From the airport it is a 30-minute cab or shuttle ride to the marina. For those arriving by car, use a ferry crossing from Livorno or Civitavecchia.

North along the Costa Smeralda to the Maddalena Archipelago

Prince Karim Aga Khan IV discovered the northeast coast of Sardinia for tourism in the 1960s. It enchanted him with picturesque beaches, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation and the granite rock typical here with its pink coloring. Instead of large hotel complexes, settlements were designed according to historical models and with traditional techniques, in close relationship with the local nature and culture.

Only 10 nautical miles north of its starting marina Portisco is Porto Cervo, one of the most exclusive coastal resorts on the Costa Smeralda. The coast and surroundings of Porto Cervo shine, typical for the Costa Smeralda, with wide sandy bays like Liscia Ruja and picturesque shimmering water. In Capriccioli Bay you will find one of the most famous beaches in Sardinia. The noble surroundings of the town are dotted with posh boutiques, classy restaurants and hotels. On the shopping street Passeggiata and the Piazzetta you can soak up the special atmosphere while enjoying an aperitivo. The neo-Sardinian style church of Santa Maria di Stella Maris on the harbor is one of the most impressive buildings in the town.

The emerald green waters that give the town its name, the fine sandy beaches and the bizarre and imposing granite rock formations still characterize the coastal landscape and make an excursion by sailing yacht to the surrounding islands of Soffi, le Camere, Mortorio, Poveri, Caprera and the Maddalena Archipelago National Park, which can be reached in a few nautical miles, an unforgettable experience. In the Maddalena archipelago it is also worth going to the small port town of Cala Gavetta, where you can stroll and go out especially in the evening.

Experienced sailors and sporty crews can sail further north to Corsica through the Strait of Bonifacio or head for the Lavezzi Archipelago.

The Costa Smeralda towards the south - peace and relaxation

Heading south, Olbia also offers interesting sights such as the Romanesque church of San Simplicio and the ruins of a nuraghe fortress. Also in Arzachena you can find traces of prehistoric times, for example the Nuraghe Albuccia, a tower construction, and the Megaron temple. Nearby you can also see the giant tomb Coddu Vecchin, the temple Malchittu and the necropolis Li Muri.

Sail from Olbia to the offshore islands of Tavolara and Molara, both part of the Tavolara Capo Coda Cavello Marine Park. The image of the two islands is defined by the rich flora and fauna, the striking rugged coastlines and the unique beaches with crystal clear waters. In this picturesque environment you can enjoy optimal diving, swimming and hiking.
