Yacht charter Cannigione

Your yacht charter Cannigione will take you to Sardinia, the Costa Smeralda and the Golfo di Arzachena. Nowadays the town is mainly characterized by tourism and only little by fishing, in which the place found its origin. Today, a stroll through the town will find small boutiques, handicraft stores, restaurants and cafes. The well-developed marina is particularly popular for its sheltered position and proximity to the Maddalena archipelago. Not far from the marina to the north are several sandy beaches, and the water in the bay is always a few degrees warmer than the rest of the coast. The beaches slope shallowly and are therefore especially suitable for families with children. To the south of the town, the Rio San Giovanni flows into the Gulf of Arzachena. The estuary called Stagno di Saloni is home to numerous bird species such as herons, wild ducks, flamingos and also black storks. A hike through this nature reserve is an experience not only for bird lovers. From Cannigione, hiking trails lead to the hinterland, adorned by wind and sand with imaginative rock formations, for example to "Il Fungo" in Arzachena, which is shaped like a mushroom. You can also visit some relics of the nuragic culture, such as the Protonuraghen Albucci tower from the middle of the second millennium B.C. or the Li Lolghi giant tomb and the Li Muri necropolis.

The Maddalena archipelago at your doorstep

With a yacht charter Cannigione you have the Maddalena Archipelago in the Tyrrhenian Sea virtually at your doorstep in just 10 nautical miles. The archipelago offers with the town La Maddalena on the main island of the same name a port of call where you can while away the time in restaurants and cafes before heading off for a stroll in the bays of the archipelago. A total of 62 islands with countless small bays, rugged rock formations and white beaches, which contrast in a great play of colors with the green vegetation and the crystal clear sea shimmering in blue and turquoise tones. The visit to the archipelago, which was classified as a geo-marine protected area in 1994, is subject to a fee. The ticket can be purchased in most of the surrounding marinas or through the local charter company (often the ticket is already included in the charter). On the island of Caprera there is an environmental and educational center where you can learn more about the formation and history of the archipelago. If you want to spend your time snorkeling, you can find a place with a great variety of marine life to admire on the coast of Caprera in the bay of Cala Coticcio. The two smaller islands of Spargi and Spargiotto are known for their rich nature and birdlife. On the island of Budelli there is a peculiarity of nature, the pink beach, Spiaggia Rosa. Due to certain microorganisms, the sand is colored pink to coral. It is forbidden to enter the beach, but even from the sea the sight is unique.
Very close to the island is also the lagoon of Porto Madonna. An extremely popular diving and snorkeling spot. In general, the protected area has different regulations regarding diving, fishing and entering the islands and beaches, all in order to continue preserving the archipelago.

The Costa Smeralda

Cannigione is located directly on the Costa Smeralda. This vacation destination, popular not only with the rich and famous, is characterized by dream beaches, emerald green waters and picturesque villages. From Cannigione past Poltu Quatu and the small island Isola Cappucchini in the direction of Capo Ferro with its lighthouse and the island Isola delle Bisce. The passage there must be taken with care, as there are some shoals. Along this stretch there are always beautiful beaches that invite to anchor, such as the beach Lisica the Vacca or the beach Spiaggia Cala Granu. Once you have rounded Capo Ferro, you will reach Porto Cervo. The town, where high society spends its vacations, nestles picturesquely on the slopes off the coast and invites you to take a stroll through the lively alleys and enjoy a coffee from the Sardinian roaster La Tazza D'oro in one of the cafés. The coastline of the Costa Smeralda reaches as far as Olbia. Passing Portisco, Porto Rotondo and Capo Figari, a multitude of smaller bays await you, where you can stop for a swim or snorkel. The waters are mostly calm, with shoals lurking in some areas, but novice sailors and families will also find the opportunity for a relaxing sailing trip here.

The Strait of Bonifacio - on to Corsica

On your yacht charter Cannigione could be, if you wish so, a crossing to Corsica. Passing Capo d'Orso, on which a granite sculpture in the shape of a bear, polished by wind and weather thousands of years ago, keeps watch, to Palau, a touristically well developed fishing village, via Porto Pollo, a windsurfing stronghold and Porto Pozzo with its long, fine sandy beach. Santa Teresa Gallura and Capo Testa are worth a detour on the way to Bonifacio. The town, surrounded by a landscape characterized by large rock formations, offers everything for daily needs and also for strolling, lingering and relaxing, as well as a good infrastructure. The hinterland attracts with hiking and biking trails and the beaches invite you to dive and snorkel.
If you cross over to Bonifacio on the Corsican coast, you should check the weather conditions beforehand. The Strait of Bonifacio requires good sailing skills and experience. Due to the jet effects in this area, the wind forces here can be increased by 2-3 Beaufort. Once you have reached Bonifacio with its old town perched on the chalk cliffs, you can explore the 13th century bastion. Here is also one of the most beautiful beaches of the area, the beach of Rondinara. In the nature park of the offshore Lavezzi Islands you can experience the beauty of nature above or under water.

The offers for your yacht charter Cannigione are various: the sailing area is mostly feasible even for beginners. A careful and cautious navigation is however necessary, since shoals are to be expected again and again. For families there are many quiet bays and for passionate sailors the Strait of Bonifacio offers a dreamlike sailing scenery with a little challenge.
