When one thinks of sailing off Sardinia's coast, many think directly of the nature reserve around the La Maddalena archipelago. Around the altogether nearly 62 islands, which are distributed before the northeast coast of Sardinia in the Tyrrhenian Sea, offer dreamlike bays, white sand beaches and crystal-clear water - Caribbean flair in Italy. Not less beautiful, but not as crowded as the classic destinations is the east coast of Sardinia. Isola Tavolara is located about 2 miles east off the coast of Sardinia. The island, which is elongated and ends in a shallow headland on the southwest side, is often compared to a kite because of its exterior and offers some beautiful beaches. For example the one in the bay of Spalmatore whose shallow sloping beach is especially appreciated by families. If you not only want to experience something during the day, but also want to plunge into the nightlife, you will find some bars and discos in Porto Ottiolu and on the beaches there you can relax the next day. The marina in La Caletta was originally built as a commercial port, but has since developed into a pure tourist port. The place is the location of one of the largest fishing fleets in Sardinia. So fish and seafood play a big role here. So do not miss it in one of the local restaurants one of the Sardinian fish specialties, such as squid salad, which is prepared with the Sardinian squid. This slightly smaller species is particularly tender, which gives the salad a special touch. One of the main characteristics of the east coast of Sardinia are the many bays. Two particularly beautiful ones are located just a little above Santa Maria Navarrese. Cala Luna bay, with its wild beauty, can be seen as the epitome of Sardinia's nature, but Cala Sisiene or Cala Goloritze are also only slightly inferior.
